NHTSA 26V198: Mercedes recalls 3,734 MY2025 G580 EVs for wheel bolts (dealer notice Apr 3)

Mercedes-Benz USA filed NHTSA recall 26V198 covering 3,734 model-year 2025 Mercedes-Benz G580 (electric) vehicles after determining the wheel bolts might not meet current production specifications.
The report says wheel bolts could loosen while driving, potentially impairing driving stability; MBAG decided to conduct a recall on March 20, 2026, with a submission date of March 27, 2026.
Dealers were planned to be notified April 3, 2026 and owners are planned to be notified by May 22, 2026; the remedy is replacement of the wheel bolts with a new two-part bolt variant.

What this means for dealers: If you have any affected inventory or service customers, expect near-term service lane volume plus parts scheduling pressure as VINs become searchable and remedy parts flow to stores.
